Improving process efficiency
Client: International academic journal
Background
The client was an international journal published by an acclaimed research institution. It received a large number of submissions from researchers worldwide, and it used the services of Editage to make them ready for publication. However, a lot of time and resources was spent in coordinating with authors and editors. This placed a huge administrative burden on the client.
Client requirement
- Less administrative responsibility
- Faster process starting from the receipt of manuscripts to their publication after editing
- Smoother communication between researchers and editors
Solution
To reduce the burden on the client, Editage functioned as the intermediary between the authors and the client. This role entailed the following work:
- Obtaining all accepted submissions, along with the authors' contact information, from the client
- Directly communicating with the authors and carrying out iterative editing until the manuscripts were ready to be published
- Sending the "ready-to-be-published" manuscripts to the client
Impact
Effected a 25% improvement in the process efficiency and considerably reduced the administrative burden on the client
