Dr. Sucharita Kundu

Dr. Sucharita Kundu joined CACTUS in January 2016 as a Publications Manager and is currently the Team Lead of the Publications Manager Group. This group focusses on content related aspects of manuscripts and the managers act as trusted advisors to physicians and scientists across the world. The group helps ESL authors produce scientifically clear, coherent, readable, and grammatically correct manuscripts that meet the standards of leading journals in their field by providing publication support services across subject areas under the umbrella of biomedical and life sciences. Dr. Kundu obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calcutta, India, with an Honors in Chemistry; her master’s degree in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay, India; and her doctoral degree in Biological Chemistry from the University of Utah, USA. She worked as a graduate student with Prof. Sheila David (UC Davis, USA) for her doctoral degree in the field of DNA Repair and Colon Cancer. Dr. Kundu completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine with Prof. Brenda Bass, one of the most renowned scientists in the field of RNA Biochemistry. Dr. Kundu made the transition from academia to the biotechnology industry in 2013 and worked as a technical research expert with a premier protein services contract research organization, PREMAS Biotech, located out of Manesar, India. It was here that Dr. Kundu gained exposure to scientific data presentation in an industrial setting. Dr. Kundu is a published author with 616 career citations to date and is a certified member of the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS, March 2017). She has been a member of the American Association of Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) (2004-2006), the American Chemical Society (ACS) (2009-2010), and the RNA Society (2011-2013). Dr. Kundu has also taught general and organic chemistry, and bio-chemistry courses to undergraduate students for nearly four years as a teaching assistant and as an instructor.
Dr. Yang Gan
Professor Yang Gan was awarded a PhD degree by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. Before he took the full professor position at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2007, he worked as a postdoc/visiting scholar in Australia and China. He has published >60 papers/patents on surface physical chemistry, nanomaterials, and nanomedicine. He won the HIT Teaching Excellence Award in 2014, the first Frans Habraken Best Paper Award in 2013. He was elected the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in 2015. He serves on the editorial board for several international journals on multidisciplinary areas, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, and nanomedicine.
Soon Kim is an experienced trainer with over 20 years of experience in scientific communication and publishing skills to Korean researchers. She started her training role when she worked as a research librarian at LG Chemical Research Park from 1994. She expanded her training skills when she worked at Korean local agency, Shinwon Datanet. She has trained Web of Science and electronic journals in many academic institutions. She has facilitated workshops about bibliometrics and publishing skills for Korean researchers when she was a marketing manager of Scopus/ScienceDirect at Elsevier Korea for 8 years.
