Q: An error message appears on the homepage after submission

Detailed Question -

After submitting a paper to the SCOPUS journal, I received an email asking me to wait. After about a month, when I checked the homepage, there was no information about the homepage, and only an error message was displayed for several days. In this case, I wonder if I should request a withdrawal.

Answer:

Thank you for your question! Due to lack of sufficient information—like the contents of the email from the journal and whether the authors received the acknowledgement of successful submission, we won’t be able to provide a definite answer. Also, we don’t know whether the homepage that you are referring to is a submission account homepage or the journal’s webpage. Nevertheless, we will try our best to address your concern. Generally, upon submission, a system generated email notification from the journal will be delivered to all authors. This email will contain the manuscript ID for future reference and link to access and track the manuscript’s progress. If you did not receive this email (especially, manuscript ID) there is a possibility that the submission was not successful. This could be due to technical reasons on the journal website. In this case, you can attempt submission again! If you have received a manuscript ID for future reference and for some reason an error message is popping on submission system, we strongly recommend you to write to the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, sharing your concern with the screenshot of error message. Depending on their response you may decide if you wish to withdraw the manuscript.
