Q: Can you suggest some low impact factor journals related to image processing?

Detailed Question -

I am currently working in image processing. I know a list of quite high impact factor journals. I am looking for low impact factor journals in image processing. Can you suggest few journals?

1 Answer to this question
Answer:

The impact factor of a journal is best known from the JCR Impact Factor List released by Clarivate Analytics every year. This is subscription based; usually, university/institution libraries have subscriptions and hence, you may contact your librarian for obtaining this list from the website.

Alternatively, you may access the above-mentioned link of Clarivate Analytics and click on “Science Citation Index Expanded” and choose your subject-area of interest. Then, you will need to manually check all the journals and get the impact factors mentioned on the journal website. You may make a list and choose the journal that best fits your topic by reviewing the aims/scope of the journal and similar articles published in the journal.

You can also access SCImago and get a list of journals by searching for them on the website using appropriate subject area keywords. You can then narrow down on a list of journals that you think may be appropriate for your manuscript and get the impact factors from the journal website. Please note that SCImago values are not the same as JCR impact factors. But, SCImago gives you an exhaustive list of journals for you to choose from and you can get the JCR impact factors on the journal website.

Also, note that all journals listed on SCImago are not indexed in SCI/SCIE; hence it is best to refer to the journal website for the JCR impact factor. You can also use Elsevier Journal Finder and Springer Journal Selector to find journals. This might give you mixed results of high and low impact factor journals – you may choose the one which you think might be suitable for your manuscript.
