Q: Do I have a chance at being accepted into a cancer bio PhD despite my GPA?

Detailed Question -

I have a 3.4 GPA and 3.57 major GPA. I have been doing research for 2.5 years and have worked on four projects (having developed two out of those four). Do I have a shot at being accepted into a cancer bio PhD? I am worried because of my GPA. The only C I have in any biology course is in genetics. But I did take a cell and molecular biology course and aced it.

Thanks for the detailed information. However, the thing is, often, only the institution to which you’re applying would be in the best position to answer your question. So, we would recommend checking with each specific institution that you’re applying to, as each is likely to have its own requirements.

Having said that, you may also wish to share your query in our Facebook group for researchers/academics, Researcher Voice. There might be someone there who has been in the same position as you, and may thus be able to provide a response that’s closer home. Visit the group here: Researcher Voice
