Q: For studies on infectious diseases, which low-scoring journals are easier to submit to?

On the forum, we don’t really provide journal recommendations. However, we do provide pointers for selecting the right journal, as below.

• You may search for relevant journals in databases such as DOAJ, Scimago JCR, and Master Journal List (MJL). From the search, you may then shortlist a few for consideration.
• As you mentioned low-scoring (that is, low-impact or low-quartile), when searching for such journals, we would urge you to exercise caution so that you don’t end up approaching and submitting to a predatory or bogus journal. • To improve your chances of submission and therefore acceptance, after shortlisting a few journals, you may send them presubmission inquiries providing a basic idea of your research and to gauge whether they would be interested in your paper.
