Q: How do I respond to the EIC asking me for data for a paper published seven years ago?

Detailed Question -

The editor-in-chief (EIC) requested the original dataset seven years after publishing the article, which compared the effectiveness of two drugs in treating a particular disease. I do not have the data or any access to them at the moment. At the time of the submission, I was not asked to keep the data for so long and there is no such obligation at my university. How should I respond?
