Q: How many editors will be involved at the Under Review stage for my manuscript?

Firstly, your area of research is quite interesting. It’s not just urban planning, but analytics for that (going by the full name of the journal – Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science). Nice. Also, it’s great that your manuscript has been sent for peer review. So, the first hurdle has been cleared. :-)

Now, we wondered why you asked about the number of editors or reviewers that would be involved in your review. So, when we looked up the journal site for more information about their peer review process, we understood the reason for your query. There is very little information provided about their peer review process (applicable to all SAGE journals), and definitely no information about the number of editors or reviewers who will be involved. Going by the profile of their editorial team though, it looks like it could be an internal review, as they might have some experts on the board. Also, it might be the standard number of two reviewers. However, this is just an assessment based on our understanding.

Also, you needn’t worry about the (exact) number of reviewers. Your manuscript has cleared one stage, and that’s already good. Of course, the big stage of peer review remains. So, perhaps, you could prepare for it by going through the following resources:
