Q: How can I complete my research project on Human Resource Management using qualitative means?
I am averse to complex quantitative analysis in research. Now I need to do an MBA research in HRM. Specifically, I am looking at the topic "Human Capital Development as a driver for improving organisational performance" . How can I achieve this?
Can I achieve the above project through qualitative means? If yes, how should I go about it? Kindly let me know if I need to rephrase the topic to achieve the desired result. Thank you.
It is difficult for someone else to suggest a study design on your behalf. It is your work and you are the best person to judge how you wish to go about it. The research topic will depend on your study and you can choose your study design based on your hypothesis/objective of the study.
I cannot really tell you how to carry out the analysis and whether you need to rephrase your topic without reviewing the results or understanding your work. This is something you will have to decide yourself. I think you should first come up with a hypothesis or a research objective and then try to figure out whether you can work on this hypothesis using qualitative methods such as interviews, questionnaires, etc. Of course, you will not be able to avoid data altogether, but a qualitative study will minimize the need for complex data analysis.
