Q: I detected an error in my submitted manuscript. How can I correct it?

Detailed Question -

I made a mistake in my manuscript, and I detected this a day after I submitted it. In this case, can I ask the editor to replace the manuscript with the revised one? If I make such a request, would it lead to rejection?

Answer:

As far as I understand, the manuscript file that you used to complete submission contains an error. In these situations, it is best to inform the editor about the error as soon as possible. Please email the journal either through the submission system or on the email address provided by the journal. Please mention the manuscript title, manuscript ID, and the mistake in the submitted file in your email. Also, mention that you are sending the corrected revised manuscript and the editors should use the latest manuscript for peer review. Attach the corrected version of the paper to this email.

Please do not forget to apologize for your error and their inconvenience in the email to the editor. Ideally, this should not affect the peer review outcome of your manuscript. However, care should be taken to avoid such errors. For your future submissions, please double-check the manuscript before submission and also get it checked by the co-authors to ensure an error-free submission.
