  • Lindsay Morton - Senior Manager of Open Science Community Engagement, Public Library of Science (PLOS)

    Lindsay is a librarian and publishing professional with over 15 years’ experience. As Senior Manager in charge of Open Science Community Engagement with PLOS, she focusses on empowering researchers to engage in Open behaviors and leverage opportunities to maximize the reproducibility, rigor, and reach of their research.

  • Sarah Hyder Iqbal - Science Engagement Consultant

    Following her Masters and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, UK, and postdoctoral research at The Scripps Research Institute, Florida, USA, Sarah worked at the Indian science funding agency, DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance (India Alliance) as their first Communications and Public Engagement Lead. She is currently working as consultant for the not-for-profit, Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) in New Delhi, as well as serving as a strategic adviser to their India Science Festival (ISF), a consultant researcher with Pivot Collective (South Africa) on an international project funded by Wellcome Trust (UK) and a co-founder and lead of public engagement initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Superheroes Against Superbugs. She has been the founding editor of the Oxford University Biochemical Society journal – Phenotype.

  • Amelia (Millie) Newman - Senior Managing Editor, ACS Au Community Open Access Journals at American Chemical Society

    Amelia Newman is a part of the Global Editorial Strategy team at ACS since March 2021. She works closely with ACS’ academic editors to develop and execute the OA journals’ strategies and workflows, and with authors during their open access publishing journeys. Prior to joining ACS, Millie got her Masters in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield (UK), and worked in various publishing roles at the Royal Society of Chemistry for 4 years.

  • Dr. Haseeb Irfanullah - Associate Editor at Learned Publishing and a Chef of The Scholarly Kitchen

    Haseeb is an independent consultant in environment, climate change and research system, and a visiting research fellow at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), Dhaka. He is a biologist-turned-development facilitator. Over the past 24 years, Haseeb has worked for different international environment/development organizations, academic/research institutions, funders, and government agencies in different capacities. Currently, a Council Member of European Association of Science Editors (EASE), an associate editor of Learned Publishing, an associate at INASP, and a Chef of The Scholarly Kitchen, Haseeb advocates for sustainability, climate action, and resilience of scholarly publishing ecosystem.

  • (Moderator) Christopher Leonard – Director, Strategy & Innovation, Cactus Communications.

    Christopher has worked in a variety of editorial, technology and product roles for over twenty years. He is passionate about building a better, more supportive publishing space for researchers and his current role at Cactus Communications enables him to pursue his passion of redesigning academia by placing the researcher at the center.

    Alongside his scientific research, he is a passionate advocate for Open Access, Open Data, and Open Education. Dr. Gutam is the founder of 'Open Access India', a dedicated community that promotes the accessibility of publicly funded research information and data. He played a proactive role in the adoption of Open Access policy by the ICAR. He also have a keen interest in intellectual property rights and has actively pursued professional development in this area. Through his research, advocacy, and active community engagement, Dr. Gutam strives to advance the dissemination of knowledge and foster collaboration within the agricultural research community.
