Q: Is my manuscript likely to be peer reviewed by now?

Detailed Question -

I submitted a manuscript to a Nature journal. The login screen changed from “live manuscript” to “post decision manuscript” in a week, so I assumed it was desk rejected. But on the status, “decision sent to author” and “decision sent to reviewers” are listed together. So far I have not received any email which tells rejection. Is my manuscript likely to be peer reviewed by now?

Answer:

Thank you for your question.

We are unsure if the manuscript was unsubmitted or rejected based on the information you have provided. You will need to go through the through the decision letter to see what the journal has said about the manuscript. We understand that you have not received any journal email. However, we recommend you check the Junk/ Spam folder in your mailbox to see if the journal’s decision letter is present. If it’s still not there, we recommend you write to the Editor-in-Chief regarding the same and request the editor to send a copy of the decision letter.
