CRITERIA FOR PUBLICATION

Korean Journal of Pediatrics publishes invited review articles, original articles, and case reports. The journal specifies an upper limit for the number of references appended to each of these categories.

  • Invited review articles briefly review significant topics in paediatrics and are accepted only after editorial review. A review should include no more than 100 references.
  • Original articles present the results of clinical or laboratory research and are expected to follow the standard IMRaD format (short for introduction, materials and methods, results, and discussion) in addition to a structured abstract. The number of references is limited to 35.
  • Case reports describe specific clinical cases related to important topics. Each report should consist of an unstructured abstract and keywords, introduction, the main body of the report, and discussion, followed by no more than 15 references.

In choosing keywords for articles and reports, authors are expected to use, as far as possible, the list of medical subject headings (MeSH) of Index Medicus.
