Scientists achieve large-scale production of non-toxic metal chalcogenide films for use in novel semiconductors of the future
The electronic revolution has made it possible to produce microchips or semiconductors that can map large computer structures for high-throughput computing. Transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs) are a group of compounds that are suitable for use in such chips owing to their ideal properties. However, large-scale and non-toxic production of thin films of TMCs is difficult, and this is exactly what a group of researchers from Chung Ang University, Korea, aims to achieve via a new method.
