Q: Should I thank the editor and reviewers for accepting my paper?

Detailed Question -

My manuscript has been accepted for publication. Should I write a "thank you" letter to the editor and reviewers?

1 Answer to this question
Answer:

Thanking the editor and reviewers after acceptance is not exactly a common practice or norm in academic publishing. Generally, a note of thanks to the editor and reviewers is included in your response letter to the peer review comments. However, there is no harm in writing a "thank you" letter if you wish to. You can write to the editor thanking him for considering your paper for publication. In the same letter, add a word of thanks for the reviewers as well, for their valuable comments on your paper. It is indeed a thoughtful gesture on your part, and I'm sure the editor and peer reviewers will appreciate it.
