Top 3 data sharing myths busted

In the fourth part of this interview series, Dr. Mark Hahnel, founder of Figshare, shares a larger perspective on data sharing as a trend in academic publishing. The concept of putting research data out there is welcomed warmly by some segments, whereas some researchers feel that doing so will take away their control over the information they have worked hard to create. In either case, funders are increasingly leaning in favor of open data, making it mandatory for researchers to make their data publicly available. And by allowing researchers to upload different types of data, choose the people with whom they are sharing it, and decide which license they want to use, Figshare makes data management less stressful.
