Q: Under review becomes under associate editor and lasts for a month

Detailed Question -

It has been 5 months since I submitted to TDSC and 4 months since I became an Under associate Editor under review.  May I ask what is going on? I have not received any message. Do I need to write an email to ask?

Answer:

Dear Author,

Thank you for your question. The peer review process does seem to be taking longer than usual. Many journals take 3-5 months to complete the entire peer review process.

Based on your question, it seems that you submitted your paper 5 months back and for 4 months, the status has been“Under Associate Editor Under Review.” I would recommend waiting for 2-3 more weeks. If the status still does not change, you can write to the Editor-in-Chief of the journal asking for an update.
