Q: What does it mean when the phrase "Awating reviewer score" disappears?

Detailed Question -

Hello. I submitted a manuscript two and a half months ago to a journal that uses the ScholarOne system. After a few days, the phrases "Awaiting EIC decision" and "Awaiting reviewer score" (repeated two times each) appeared. However, three days ago both of the "Awaiting reviewer score" phrases have disappeared. Now, "Awaiting EIC decision" is the only phrase being displayed in the submission window. Also, the name of the ADM changed two days ago. What could be the cause of these changes?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Dear Author,

Thank you for writing to us.

We understand that the status of your manuscript has now changed to ‘Awaiting EIC decision’. This implies that after receiving the reviewer comments, the final decision (Major revision / Minor revision etc.) of the Chief Editor has not yet been issued.

We are unsure of the reason why the ADM changed, possible because the old ADM is currently not available.

We recommend you write to the journal to inquire on the status of the manuscript. We hope you receive a prompt response from the journal.
