Q: What does the status 'Quality check passed' mean for Scientific Reports?
I submitted a manuscript to Scientific Reports, and revision was required by two reviewers. I submitted the revised manuscript. After that, the status has been ‘Waiting for Editor's Decision’ for a while. Today, it was updated to ‘Quality check passed.’ What does this status mean?
The status change from ‘Waiting for Editor’s Decision’ to ‘Quality check passed’ seems a bit unusual. However, it could be that the editorial board member who is handling your manuscript felt that some basic check (on language and formatting) was needed after your revision and before they could check it again. So, they must have sent it for this check, and now, the manuscript seems to have cleared this check. :-) This may have been necessary in case yours was a major revision.
Now, the editor (or editorial board member, in the case of Scientific Reports) will go through your manuscript and make their decision. Hopefully, it will be positive, and you should know shortly. Fingers crossed!
