Q: When submitting to Frontiers in Psychology, what should I write in the 'Journal' field?

Detailed Question -

I am submitting to Frontiers in Psychology. For the field ‘Journal,’ I wrote ‘Frontiers in Psychology.’ It was incorrect. I wrote the fields my manuscript may be about. They were incorrect too. What should I write?

Answer:

I see what you mean. Basically, the submission form (and the site name, ‘frontiersin,’ that is, ‘frontiers in’) is for all the journals published by Frontiers, and not just one journal.

Anyway, here is how you can proceed.

  1. In the Journal textbox, click/double-click where Search and Select is displayed.
    • The Search and Select textbox is now displayed prominently on the top.
    • Below the Search and Select textbox, all the sections for the various Frontiers journals are displayed.
  2. In this Search and Select textbox on the top, type psychology.
    • This displays four sections, one of which is ‘Frontiers in Psychology.’
    • In the bottom right of the Frontiers in Psychology section, the text ‘15 specialties matching’ is mentioned.
  3. Click the Frontiers in Psychology section and scroll a bit below.
    • A list of several journal or specialty options is displayed.
    • Many have ‘Psychology’ highlighted, as you would have typed ‘psychology.’
  4. Click the option button for your target journal and then click Select in the bottom right of the screen.
    • The submission page is displayed again with your target journal selected.

Default Alt textI realize this doesn’t seem like a very intuitive way to set up the submission, but they would have done it for some internal reason. Anyway, hope this helps and you are able to proceed with the rest of the submission process. :-)

Hope the journey after this is smoother for your manuscript!
