Mentoring can guide\u00a0mentees so that they establish themselves as independent researchers. A mentor guides the mentee in establishing contacts, shares knowledge and skills,\u00a0and helps the trainee with their work. They can also be instrumental in helping\u00a0mentees identify opportunities and career goals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"EN-US\" paraeid=\"{e8a7d427-0541-4b39-933d-255bfc8212a1}{188}\" paraid=\"2121617391\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">However, there are several myths and misconceptions around mentors and mentoring.
