The journal, which has not been named yet, will publish across all disciplines enabling \u201ccontinual experimentation and innovation,\u201d and\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">will evolve based on the feedback of the community.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">The publisher website states that the journal will broaden publishing options for researchers who look to get published in journals that are not field-specific.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Sara Grimme, Publishing &amp; Product Director for this upcoming journal, states that \u201cThe journal reflects Elsevier&#8217;s goal to provide a home for all sound research. We are building an online interface that provides authors with a step-by-step, quick and intuitive submission process. As part of a transparent publishing process, we will alert authors on the progress of their submitted papers at each stage.\u201d She further adds that the new journal intends to improve the end-to-end publishing process and integrate technologies, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scopus.com\/\">Scopus<\/a>, to improve search and discovery. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Some key points of the journal are:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Authors will have the choice of publishing under Creative Commons licenses CC-BY and CC-BY-NC-ND.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Researchers will be able to give feedback about the journal through various channels.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Submissions will be assessed for good research rather than scope or impact.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The platform will use technologies developed by Elsevier and Mendeley, to make papers easily discoverable and to connect them to the relevant research communities and readers.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">According to the publisher site, \u201cThe content will appear on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sciencedirect.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ScienceDirect<\/a>, which has more global usage than any other scientific publication platform, and on a dedicated website.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">The new journal will be driven by technology as well as community. Elsevier has given an open invitation to members of the research community to be their collaborators in innovative publishing.
