Science is ever-evolving! With millions of researchers and publication professionals actively working toward scientific progress,\u00a0staying ahead of the curve means\u00a0understanding the direction and pace of scientific advancement. Therefore, our\u00a0series of posts on Global Science<\/a>\u00a0explored the current trends in global scientific publishing. From\u00a0basic facts and figures about research publication<\/a>,\u00a0citation metrics<\/a>, and\u00a0R&D expenditure<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0international collaboration<\/a>, and\u00a0open data mandates<\/a>, through the Global Science series, we have tried to present an overview of the most prominent phenomena and trends in scientific research and publishing.<\/p>\n

While the global publishing arena is abuzz with dynamic trends like open access, open data mandates, newer citation metrics, and research collaboration, it has also witnessed some downsides such as\u00a0plagiarism<\/a>,\u00a0issues related to publication ethics<\/a>,\u00a0predatory journals<\/a>,\u00a0bias in research settings<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n

This made us wonder: What does the future of science and publishing hold? To enable the sharing of ideas among those passionate about science and research, we are launching the campaign\u00a0#MyWishForGlobalScience<\/strong><\/a><\/u><\/span>.<\/p>\n
