Regardless of where one&#8217;s future takes them, there is no denying that a strong skill set in the STEM fields will be valuable in their careers. There are so many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.editage.com\/insights\/9-inspiring-academics-who-pivoted-into-non-traditional-careers?refer-type=article\" target=\"_blank\">non-traditional careers<\/a> that people have chosen too where a strong STEM foundation gave them the courage to try something new! So how can we make STEM more accessible (not scary) and interesting to students of all ages?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tips for effective engagement in STEM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Here are some tips that mentors, educators, scientists and science communicators can use when talking about science to the youth:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1. Go Live!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you can, go live! Live demonstrations, interactive events, hands-on activities will keep audiences engaged in science.
