This omission was just a matter of bad timing; the deadline to submit nominations for <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">2021 Nobel Prizes <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">was <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">February<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> 1<sup>st<\/sup> that was <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">more than two months <i>after<\/i> the efficacy of the first mRNA vaccines, and some others, were proved in clinical trials. Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences secretary-general Goran Hansson said, \u201cThe development of mRNA vaccines is a wonderful success story that has had enormous positive consequences for humankind. And we are all very grateful to the scientists. This is a kind of discovery that will receive nominations\u2026but we need to take time.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><sup><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">2 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: justify; margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">This being said, many in the <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">scientific community were disappointed with the Nobel Prize announcement<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\" xml:lang=\"EN-IN\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"line-height: 115%;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> Steven Hobbs, professor of biology at Howard College in Texas, believes the Nobel committee not only ignored vaccine research, which was based on decades of work, but delivered a blow to women scientists who often spearhead this research.<sup>3<\/sup> \u201cNobel is supposed to be for those who\u2019ve helped humanity most in the previous year. While the work on skin receptors is important, it could take a backseat for another year,\u201d he said.
