At no point in the process were you in a rush to finish. It was much more important to conduct the research carefully, responsibly and with all the correct ethical processes. There are a lot of expectations that have built up around your reputation as a systematic and accomplished medical researcher. After all, every published medical paper will become a permanent part of a much larger body of evidence that may influence future research, clinical guidelines, or patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting publication-ready is about ensuring that every sentence accurately reflects the research conducted, every conclusion is supported by evidence, every image is authentic, and every listed author stands behind the work. In today&#8217;s publishing landscape, another dimension has been added to this responsibility: the use of artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Today, you may ask \u2013 how can I use AI responsibly and be confident that my research paper is accurate?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI-powered writing assistants, translation tools, and literature summarizers have quickly become part of many researchers&#8217; workflows. For busy clinicians and medical researchers, these technologies can save valuable time and help overcome language barriers when preparing manuscripts for international journals. Yet AI also introduces new ethical challenges. A manuscript that appears too polished can raise red flags too! The paper may still contain fabricated references, altered scientific meaning, or subtle inaccuracies that only a subject expert can identify. Yes, giving away too much authority to AI is convenient in the short run \u2013 but harmful in the long run!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trust. Reputation. Responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As leading medical journals continue to update their policies on AI-assisted writing, one principle remains unchanged: authors are accountable for the integrity of every word they submit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research ethics begins long before writing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ethical manuscript writing starts well before the first draft is written.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strongest manuscript cannot compensate for ethical shortcomings in study design or data collection.
