Should they be counting local bug populations instead? A recent <a href=\"http:\/\/rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org\/content\/12\/8\/20160322?cpetoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a> by Leong et al. in <em>Biology Letters <\/em>explores the possibility of identifying the socio-economic status of urban neighborhoods by establishing indoor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.in\/search?q=arthropod&amp;biw=1366&amp;bih=663&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=isch&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwis_sja1KTOAhXBPI8KHWGhAHsQ_AUICCgB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arthropod<\/a> diversity.<\/p>\n<p>The authors find that homes in wealthier neighborhoods have more diverse non-pest arthropod populations; surprisingly, even for houses in these neighborhoods that lacked sufficient surrounding vegetation.
