The\u202f9th International Congress on Peer Review and Scientific Publication\u202fwas held in Chicago, IL from September 8-10, 2022, and was attended by key stakeholders in scholarly publishing.<\/p>\n
The conversations revolved around the need for more\u202fsystematic research on\u202fpublication\u202fpatterns, trends in\u202fpublishing,\u202fand the efficacy of peer review.\u202fTraining and mentoring, incentivizing peer\u202freview,\u202fand\u202fdiversity, equity, and inclusion\u202falso emerged as major themes. Using AI\u202fand how technology can help manage publication workflows while maintaining the integrity of research was a frequent topic of discussion, as was the emergence of\u202fnewer threats to publication ethics and research integrity, such as paper mills.\u00a0<\/p>\n
