In this interview, I speak with Rachel Martin, Global Director of Sustainability at Elsevier, about the different ways in which publishing initiatives can improve the communication of climate research and promote climate justice\u2014including through open access publishing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0cm 0cm 8pt\"><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"line-height:107%\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\">Rachel talks about the barriers to climate justice and the importance of developing a sustainability mindset when developing strategies that facilitate climate action. In 2020, she launched the Elsevier report <i>The Power of Data to Advance the SDGs<\/i>. Rachel is also part of the team that launched the UN Sustainable Development Goals Publishers Compact, and recently co-founded the Publishing 2030 Accelerator to help drive climate action in the publishing industry. She represents Elsevier on several industry sustainability committees.
