Q: What should I do when general words are flagged by plagiarism detection?
As a result of plagiarism detection, many general words like ”systolic blood pressure" were checked and an overall score got high: 30%. But each of them scores <1%, and most of them are general words and difficult to rephrase. Also, flagged elements were mostly words level, and not sentence level. Should I take any measure to improve the score in this situation? What should I do?
Dear Author,
Thank you for your question. This is a common issue with plagiarism checkers, and since journals are aware of this, it usually doesn't cause a problem. You may share an additional note with the journal (perhaps as a part of your covering letter), explaining the scenario. We would be happy to assist you with this note or provide further help, if required.
