Q: Should I take permission to reuse a figure?
In my accepted manuscript, I reused a figure from another paper as a supplementary figure. At the peer review stage nothing was pointed out about copyright, but should I as an author take permission to cite the figure before publication?

Different journals have different copyright rules regarding re-use of data published in their journal. Most journal require you to seek permission from either the journal or the author (depending on who has the copy-right) to re-use figures. Figures should also be appropriately cited. Please check with the journal where the image was published for their copy-right regulations.
