Common misunderstandings by authors reading journal/publisher AI guidelines

  • Assuming the publisher policy overrides the journal. Taylor & Francis and Elsevier both defer to individual journal instructions. Wiley gives journal editors final authority to determine whether AI use is appropriate or not in the papers that they handle.
  • Treating restructuring as copy editing.
