First Editage webinar a resounding success, with participation from authors across the globe!

Editage launched its global webinar initiative in May 2013, in line with the CACTUS vision of serving as trusted advisors to researchers worldwide. The first webinar was held on May 29, 2013, and a repeat webcast was held on June 26, 2013.

Titled Boost your scientific career: Five high-impact tools for the smart researcher and led by Roohi Ghosh, who drives researcher training at Editage, this free webinar was targeted at early and mid-career researchers. It presented participants with an expert view on key developments such as Altmetrics, Mendeley, ResearchGate, and ORCID, and discussed the implications of social media tools for research communication. The aim of the webinar was to help researchers network, promote, and boost their scientific careers.

Researchers from across 23 countries —Austria, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States—registered for this session. The feedback we received reveals that participants found the session highly informative, engaging, and interactive. Polls were interspersed within the session itself, and participants asked some interesting questions. We also gave attendees a free recording of the session!

We understand that researchers are finding it difficult to keep pace with the latest trends in a highly competitive research landscape, and we look forward to hosting many more live webcasts like these!
