CACTUS appoints Head of China Operations

(October 22, 2018; Beijing, China) Editage, the flagship business unit of Cactus Communications, has appointed Frank Xu as the Managing Director of China Operations. China is the world’s largest producer of research output in English and, as Managing Director, Xu is expected to drive the future growth and strategy of the group. Xu has over 17 years of experience in scholarly and educational publishing.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Xu says, “Editage has a deserved global reputation as an academic editing and author service provider with a unique business model. I am excited to be on board and look forward to working with the team.”

Frank was previously the Director of Open Research for Springer Nature China; he was responsible for its open access business in the region and handled marketing, institutional partnerships, thought leadership building, and the OA journal partnership program under Nature Research, BMC, and the Springer Open platform. He was Macmillan China’s first full-time employee and has also served as its Director of Institutional Sales, prior to its merger with Springer.

Frank holds an MBA from the Sorbonne Graduate Business School of University Paris 1 Pantheon, France.
