Bio
Alexandra is a graduate student at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, US, and currently serves as the treasurer of the Penn Science Policy and Diplomacy Group. With a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, she has a background in Cell Biology and Genetics and is currently working on her PhD, which focuses on epitranscriptomics regarding epidermal differentiation and carcinogenesis. She has been active in science diplomacy activities, such as collaborating with the Office of Science and Innovation at the Swedish Embassy of the United States, attending the American Association for the Advancement of Science conference, and helping set up science diplomacy events for the graduate students of the University of Pennsylvania. Apart from enjoying research and science diplomacy, she is passionate about communication and writes blogs for the Voices of Youth, in which UNICEF shared one of her excerpts on their social media platforms.
