I enjoy pondering over the mysteries of life in our biosphere. The diversity and complexity generated by the As, Cs, Ts and Gs that make up our DNA is astounding to me. Particularly, as metaorganisms, the fact that we owe our so much of our health to the trillions of microbes that reside in us, is humbling to me. With over 100-fold more genes than the host, our microbiome regulates various physiological and immunological processes. I endeavour to unravel mechanisms governing microbe-mediated host immunity to help advance prophylactic and therapeutic biomedicine. For leisure, I enjoy a good workout, listening to music, travelling and cooking.
