Q: Is it possible to publish an article in an SCI journal for an unregistered clinical research?
It would not be possible to publish your article in an SCI journal that follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines for clinical trials. As per the guidelines, you need to register the trial before or at least at the time of enrolling the first patient. Among other reasons, this is to prevent selective publication of trial findings. This is usually also mentioned in the author guidelines on journal sites. Plus, journals also need you to provide the registration details at the time of submission. So, you would need to register your trial as soon as possible. Once the registration is complete, based on the stage at which your research is, you may proceed with submitting your manuscript.
