Q: Repository and authorship
I registered my thesis to a repository as a single authored paper. Is that acceptable to use its contents in a new co-authored paper and submit to a journal?
Thank you for your question. Note that a thesis submitted to the repository of a university may not be a paper. Therefore, please confirm if it is a paper or a thesis that you have registered in the repository. If the thesis is submitted to a repository that has no embargo, its contents can be used in a new paper that can then be submitted to a journal. However, you will need to inform the journal that your thesis was submitted to a repository.
Hope this helps! Please feel free to get back to us in case you need added clarity in any regard.
