Q: What books or journals should I refer to get information on the topic of my research?
I am writing a research paper on the factors contributing to lack of mutual relationship among the children and step-parenting. Where can I get books and journals relating to this topic? I have done a case study with the rehabilitation of street children and I found out the factors contributing to the increase of this street children is step parents.
Citing relevant references in a manuscript to be submitted to an academic journal is of utmost importance. For this, you need to conduct an extensive literature search. You will need to look for journals that publish articles related to your subject area. You can do a search on Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Ingenta Connect to find out articles similar to your topic of interest.
Ensure that you use the correct keywords to maximize the chances of getting suitable publications. Google Scholar gives you both books and articles from journals which are related to your area of interest. Once you collate a set of similar articles, go to the References section and review all the articles that have been cited. This will give you a fair idea of the various types of review articles as well as the original research articles that are appropriate for your study. Make a list of all the articles and review them for content.
