Q: What should be done if the reference check fails during submission?
When I went through the PDF preview during submission, there was a line saying "click here to view linked reference" in the file. I clicked on it and got the message "The file 'Manuscript.pdf' is not eligible for Reference Checking and was not processed." What's the reason for this? What should I do?
It is possible that the reference checking feature does not work for PDF files. Perhaps, it might work if you upload an MS Word or LaTeX file. You should go through the instructions for authors section carefully and find out if they have mentioned any specific file format to be used for the submission. If you do not find any clear instruction, you can write to the journal editor explaining the problem you faced during submission and ask whether there is a preferred file format for submission.
