The idea of establishing a space where researchers could stop, think, and be led not only by checklists and regulations but also by narratives, connections, and clarity started out as a whisper in the academic publishing community. We launched Editage Insights twelve years ago, and what a journey it has been.

Back then, our editorial staff convened in a tiny space crammed with notebooks, coffee cups, and aspirations. What is most important to researchers, we asked ourselves? What are the questions they are afraid to ask? How can we approach the art of communicating science with empathy in addition to expertise? We started out with the straightforward goal of serving as a guide, a friend, and a motivator for people negotiating the complex world of journals, peer review, and publication.

Editage Insights developed with the research community over the years. We welcomed all of the stories: new writers developing their voices, seasoned academics adjusting to new publishing formats, and editors and reviewers posing more profound queries about impact, ethics, and clarity. We established a place where “why it matters” and “how to write” collided. Where narrative that transcended the manuscript and entered the researcher’s world matched technical accuracy.

We’ve seen a lot of change stories over the past twelve years, such as a researcher publishing in their first journal, a team realizing that translation is more than just language and context, or a community realizing that open access and data transparency are not just catchphrases but obligations. Along the way, we created connections rather than just articles. relationships between authors and readers, between editors and writers, and between society and research.

Every research-writing guide and publication tip is the result of a team that has never stopped learning. We were joined by new voices who challenged the status quo and offered new ideas. While some concepts flourished and others subtly waned, each one expanded our knowledge of the real needs of writers and journals. In order to meet deadlines, we rewrote late at night, laughed, and debated. When those papers were published, we rejoiced, and when the path proved more difficult than anticipated, we sympathized with the researchers.

We take a moment today to honor all of you our readers, authors, editors, and our expanding global community as we celebrate the 12th anniversary of Editage Insights. This platform is shaped by your inquisitiveness, difficulties, and innovations. Twelve years is more than just a significant event; it is evidence of a common goal.

Looking ahead, the future is full of opportunities. Data, artificial intelligence, interdisciplinarity, and international cooperation are reshaping the publishing landscape more quickly than before. As we enter our thirteenth year, we are still dedicated to developing—still serving as a mentor, a friend, and the voice of researchers but we are also prepared for new models, tools, and approaches to help insight find impact.

Let’s celebrate twelve years of Editage Insights, the stories we’ve shared, the inquiries we’ve made, and the research expeditions we’ve embarked on. We appreciate your participation in our story. This is the beginning of the next chapter.

Happy 12th Anniversary, Editage Insights.
Here’s to many more years of enlightening research, connecting communities and amplifying voices.
