As the EiC was responsive and let you know that the paper was assigned to a new Editor, it seems they’re doing their best to give your manuscript a fair chance. Also, papers that receive a major revision request are almost always sent for a second round of review, and while the re-review usually does not take as long as the first review if the paper is sent to the same set of reviewers, the editor can choose to send it to new reviewers, in which case, it can take longer.It’s possible that the second reviewer may have other commitments that may have delayed their acceptance of the review, but since it’s been nearly a month since the invite was sent, you could send a polite reminder enquiring about the status of the re-review. However, I would advise against sending too many reminders too often. Your manuscript is reaching closure and you wouldn't want to appear impatient at this stage.All the best!

Thank you for your question. Were you given a time frame regarding when the conference would contact you? If you were given a time frame, I recommend waiting for that to pass. However, if you were not, you can contact them by phone or email after a total of 15 days have passed since you last contacted the conference.

Thank you for your question! Yes, you can write to the editorial office for an update regarding your manuscript. However, please keep in mind that the review times can vary depending on the availability of peer-reviewers and how fast they get back to the journal with responses. We would recommend waiting at least 1-1.5 months from the time the status changed to "Under Review" before writing to the journal. Good luck with your manuscript!

We understand that you had received the final galley proof but only responded to the journal after 3 months and are still awaiting a response from the journal. Yes, you should definitely write to the Editor-in-Chief/ production manager handling the proof, about the status of your accepted manuscript. In addition, you should check if the article is appearing in the journal’s published archives as “Early View” or “All issues”. If it appears in the early view section, it means that the accepted article has still not been assigned a volume and issue number. However, if it appears with a volume and issue number, it means that it is already been published.  You should also pay close attention to see if the revision requested (if any) in the galley proof are reflected in the published paper or not and inform the journal accordingly.

There are several factors that influence the time taken to come to a decision post submission of a revised manuscript. Generally, the decision process is much quicker in case of revision submissions compared to initial submissions but during this pandemic there can be a delay if the reviewers are currently not available to review the manuscript. Yes, the editor may have missed doing so. So, you may reply to them saying that you can’t seem to find the comments document(s) in the mail. If they had indeed missed sending it/them to you, they should have no problem in resharing with you.
