Does an academic copy-editor require knowledge of statistics?

Currently, many journal articles contain statistical flaws. Journal editors and researchers are becoming increasingly concerned with the incorrect reporting of statistical data. The author shares whether copy-editors should be able to spot and correct statistical flaws to help speed up the peer review and avoid some mistakes.
