Q: How do I make my dependent variable (DV) measurable?
I am carrying out research on the decision to purchase insurance, where the decision to purchase insurance is my DV. I intend to use multiple regression to find the effect of my independent variables (IVs) on my DV, but I do not know how to measure my DV.
This would depend on the nature of your DV. If the attributes of the DV sought to being measured can be expressed using a physical quantity, the effect of the IV will be visibly measurable. However, if the attributes sought to being measured are not physical, you might need to infer the effect from some other observable criteria.
