Q: How to find fast Scopus journals in finance and management?
Hi, Can you please share some free journals in Scopus which accept finance research papers. I am more worried about acceptance timeframe and not the eventual publication. I do not want to pay any APC charges.
If the time frame to acceptance is a major concern to you, you should opt for rapid publication journals. Several journals and publishers offer rapid publication - an accelerated track to publication that assures you of the journal’s decision (or even publication) within weeks or days of submitting your manuscript.
Scopus is a huge database and I’m sure it includes many journals that have a rapid publication option. Elsevier has a journal finding tool that you could consider using. Since Scopus is an Elsevier database, you would find journals that are indexed in Scopus. The tool also gives, for each journal that it shows up, the average time to get to a first decision, so all you need to do is go to each of the journal websites and check whether they have any article processing charges. This will reduce the time you spend on selecting target journals.
Another option is to the Scopus journal list and search by subject area. You should be able to narrow down the search based on your research topic. You can then go to the website of each of the shortlisted journals and check the review time. as well as the APCs. This is a slightly longer way, but you will be able to come up with a list of 4-5 target journals.
To further save time, you can send out pre-submission inquiries simultaneously to all of these journals. Make sure you don't attach our manuscript; just give a brief overview of your research and ask if the journal would be interested in it. You can then submit to a journal that shows interest. That way, the chances of rejection due to mismatch with the journal's scope of readership can also be minimized.
