Q: I have not been assigned a manuscript ID after submission. Is my submission complete?

Detailed Question -

Hi, I want to enquire if I need to submit related raw data when I submit to BBRC journal? The internet speed was very slow when I submitted my paper, so I didn't choose to provide raw data. It's five days now and I still don't get manuscript ID. I don't know what's the reason for it. Should I keep waiting or do I need to act actively? Should I add related content and submit again? Or should I prepare for submitting to other journal?

Answer:

If you have not yet received the manuscript ID, it is possible that your submission process is not complete. Please check the online tracking system to see if the status is showing "Manuscript Submitted." If you see this status, it means that your submission has been successfully completed, and probably, the manuscript ID will be assigned in a few days. However, if you do not see this status, it means that the submission process is not completed. In that case, you should go back and complete the submission. If the submission system mentions the inclusion of raw data as a mandatory field, you will have to submit the data along with your paper for the submission to be completed successfully.

Please check the section on "Research data" in the journal's "Guide for Authors." This section provides different options for you to submit related raw data. As per the journal guidelines, if you have uploaded your data on a public repository, you can link it directly to your article at the time of submission in the online submission system. You also have the option of submitting your data through Mendeley or to publish it as a data article in the journal Data in Brief

Please check these options carefully and select the one which you think works best for you. You can also write to the journal's Editorial Office if you need any further clarifications.
