[Open Access Week 2022 special] What researchers need to know about open access publishing: Interview with industry experts from Brill

Lack of familiarity with or understanding of the open access publishing model may prevent researchers from publishing critical research open access. International Open Access Week is an excellent time to address this gap.

In this video, I am in conversation with two industry experts from Brill—a leading international academic publisher. I ask Stephanie Veldman (Head of Open Research, Brill) and Dominique De Roo (Vice President, Global Marketing, Brill) about the benefits researchers can experience when they publish their work open access, the challenge of covering article-processing charges, the role of open access books, and geographical differences in the adoption of open access publishing models. Moreover, since this year’s theme is Open for Climate Justice, we also discuss how open access publishing can accelerate climate action.

Watch the video to hear their perspectives.
