Q: What is "Awaiting EIC Decision" after rejection and resubmission?

Detailed Question -

I submitted manuscript in October, 2021. By November it showed awaiting EIC decision. In the month of December, I got a "reject and resubmit" decision. Now in February, 2022, I resumitted the manuscript. Now for the last 2 weeks, it's showing awaiting EIC. May I know is there any chances for at least to get a major revision. During reject and resubmit, I got comments from 2 reviewers, and while resubmitting I addressed all their comments.

Dear Author, Thank you for your question.

"Awaiting EIC decision" means that the journal is waiting on a decision by the "Editor in Chief". The editor in chief may not just 'accept' or 'reject' the manuscript. As you've mentioned, you have addressed the previous reviewer's concerns, so the EIC may suggest moving the manuscript to peer-review based on what you have addressed. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict the EIC's decision, but if the previous concerns were appropriately addressed, there is a fair chance of the manuscript going into peer-review. I understand how frustrating waiting for a decision can be. Sometimes these decisions might take some time, so please do not lose heart. I hope this helps clarify your concerns.
