Q: Why is the status of my revised manuscript "under review" even after 21 days?

Detailed Question -

I submitted the revised manuscript along with my responses to all the comments of two reviewers. Within two days, the status was changed to "under review," but even after 21 days, the status is still the same. Only the status date was changed. Do you have any comments/suggestions for this situation? Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Generally, if the status remains the same while the status date changes, it means that someone at the backend has accessed the database of your paper. Since your paper is still showing the status "Under review" it is clear that the review of your paper is not yet complete. The status date change indicates that perhaps one of the reviewers has submitted the review. The status will change to "Required reviews completed" once all the reviews come in.
