Q: Why is there a change in status time without change in status?

Detailed Question -

I submitted my manuscript to a journal. After 14 days its status was changed to "Editor assigned." After 40 days, this status didn't change but its status time was changed to new time. I confused why the status time has changed.

However,since it has been over 40 days since manuscript submission, you should send an email to the journal inquiring by when you can expect to see a status change.
